St John’s Anglican College strategically plans for its future development. Our planning process provides opportunities for feedback from parents, students and staff.
The College’s future facilities development is outlined in the Built Environment Plan 2011 to 2016 which builds on earlier improvements including:
- The 750-tiered-seating College Auditorium (2012)
- Gymnasium (2013)
- Refurbished eight Primary School Classrooms (2015)
- Performing Arts Centre Stage 2 (2016 – 2017)
- Refurbishing the MAST building to incorporate the STEM Institute (2017- 2018)
Performing Arts Centre
The Performing Arts Centre of Excellence will now have a home. After 23 years of building facilities serving the educational needs of our school community across two campuses, the completion of the Centre will be a significant milestone in the history of our College as the Performing Arts is housed in permanent facilities.
This multi-purpose facility accommodates the 750 seat Auditorium, with Green Rooms and Drama teaching spaces. The exciting second stage of development will complete the complex at the northern end, with the addition of open-plan learning areas (doubling as foyer spaces), additional amenities, performance and recording spaces, Music Department teaching spaces and staff facilities – all over three levels.
Following the completion of the Performing Arts Centre building the STEM Institute will be upgraded to allow for greater synergy between Design Technology, ICT and Visual Art. the new facility will facilitate design, inquiry learning, problem-solving and project work in the STEM subjects.
