Performing Arts Centre of Excellence shines in showcase

1.9.2014

The St John’s Performing Arts Centre of Excellence demonstrated its achievements at our Annual Showcase events earlier this term.Middle School students from Years 5 to 9 performed in solos and ensembles in dance, drama and musical items to an enthusiastic audience. It was very pleasing to see how their musical and performance skills have improved during the year.

The Senior School Showcase highlighted the depth of talent and potential within the program through quality performances.

Congratulations to each of the teachers involved in the program for their contribution to these amazing performances. Following on from the exceptional performances in the Combined School’s Music Festival in May this year, where our students had the benefit of expert tuition from renowned practicing musicians, the showcase demonstrated that experience gained was put to good use in the ensembles and individual items.

This is the first time that our Showcase events were able to be held in our newly completed Auditorioum in the comfort of appropriate seating and acoustic setting. When provided with the right learning environment, exceptional performance can be achieved. Congratulations to all our students on their hard work in practice, rehearsal and performance opportunities throughout the year and on your Showcase performances. Well done!
