Senior Theatresports Team Win

This year the St John’s Anglican College Drama Department registered two teams for the Queensland Youth Theatresports 2015 Festival.

“The Youth Theatresports™ Festival is a fun way for students to gain valuable improvisation experience and stage time. Everything is made up on the spot; the music, dialogue, mime and song. The teams are judged on their ability to follow the rules of each game, deliver a cohesive story line and entertain the audience. Theatresports™ delivers a vast variety of different theatrical styles: opera, comedy, drama, mime and poetry can appear all in the one show.”

On Tuesday 19th May our Senior Team “Team WON” faced tough competition from Padua College, The Springfield Anglican College, St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace and Wellington Point State High School, successfully winning and making it through to the Quarter finals.

Our team members: Gabrielle Colledge, Olivia Hutley, Egan Sun-Bin, Chloe Kemp, Rebecca Quick, our reserves: Waverley Vercoe and Ashleigh Mogg, along with their team captain Zoe Meredith-Brown displayed theatre confidence, school spirit and sportsmanship. We congratulate them on their efforts and we look forward to supporting them in the Quarter finals on Friday 19th June on home soil at our school Auditorium. Competition starts 7pm, Adults $9 and students $7.

Our Intermediate team, “Team to, infinity and beyond” compete Thursday 21st May. We wish them luck.
