St John’s Grade 11 students Ajay Ananthan and Thu Le attended the QUT Vice-Chancellor’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) camp during the last school break.
The STEM camp provided high-achieving Year 11 students with an exciting opportunity to attend an interactive 5-day camp, and engage in solving some of the major challenges facing our society and planet today. Ajay and Thu took advantage of QUT’s unique learning environment and had an opportunity to experience ground-breaking research inside their world-class research facilities.
While Ajay worked on a Highways in the Sky drone project programming to manoeuvre multiple drones through a course with no collisions using Java script, Thu delved into the Biofabrication Hospital of the Future 3D printing project. They also had opportunities to meet CEOs of companies, attend Street Science and Technology performances and interact with leading academics.
Congratulations Ajay and Thu!
