Book Week – a real page turner!
This year St John’s enthusiastically celebrated Book Week with its theme ‘Connect to Reading.’ Activities included book parades, a Roald Dahl Supper, Guessing Competitions, Reading Hours and a visit from author, Tristan Bancks.
The two Reading Hours were attended by more than 120 children who enjoyed listening to their teachers read them their favourite stories. Kindergarten to Year 2 students enjoyed a Pyjama Book Hour and the Years Three to Six particularly appreciated the delicious Roald Dahl themed supper at the end of their evening.
Year Six to Nine students appreciated the opportunity to listen to and speak with author Tristan Bancks who read to them from his books and provided them with useful writing tools.
St John’s students appreciate the hard work and enthusiasm of all the teachers and library staff who supported and promoted Book Week and particularly the work of Mrs Maulin our Information and Library Services Manager.
