St John’s Anglican College extensive Leadership Development Program forges tomorrow’s leaders from your child’s unique set of personal skills.
The world needs strong and decisive leaders and we believe every child has the potential to be a leader.
Throughout Primary and Secondary years, your child will be presented with ample opportunities to develop their leadership skills.
No matter what set of skills your child has, they will be able to exercise them on the sporting field, in the performing arts, in chapel, at our weekly assemblies, in our outdoor education program and, of course, in our extensive academic curriculum through programs such as STEM, Future Thinkers and Enterprise Education.
Your child will also be able to exercise their leadership skills through our Mentor and Buddy Program where older students mentor younger students, share their experiences and talk to them about some of the challenges ahead.
While we don’t believe you have to wear a badge to be a leader, there are many formally recognised leadership positions in classes, Year levels, Houses, Middle School Council, Senior Student Council, Prefects and School Captains.
To prepare your child for Senior Year leadership positions, Year 11 students attend a special Leadership Camp in Term Four where they are challenged to “step up”.
Many enjoy these challenges, surprising themselves with what they are capable of and growing in confidence.
You don’t become a leader unless you are given the opportunities to lead.
We consider every chid has the potential to become a leader and our holistic Leadership Development Program will provide them with those opportunities and lay the right foundations.
