Learning and Socials Spaces for Students to Call their Own

The dedication and opening of the Middle School Precinct on Wednesday 27 April 2022 represents a significant milestone in St John’s journey of growth and learning. It was a privilege to welcome Her Excellency the Honourable, Dr Jeannette Young PSM, Governor of Queensland and Bishop John Roundhill to this special occasion. St John’s vision to deliver the very best in experience, environment, and opportunity for learning is a reality.

The new precinct includes an abundance of social space; an outdoor covered area including an Amphitheatre and reflection spaces. In essence, plenty of space in which to connect in groups, create mindfulness time and easily interact between the spaces, all optimised for collaborative learning.

In Middle School, we emphasise service to others, teamwork, taking initiative and developing responsibility, skills our students will take with them as they progress through to Senior School. The innovative design of this new building promotes personal and collective learning and provides social opportunities to foster our spirit of collaboration with the community.

It is our community spirit that grounds our students, gives them self-confidence, fosters tolerance, and prepares them to actively contribute to the society of the future.

Mindful that we have a beautiful campus, of which we are justifiably proud; this new precinct has been designed to harmonise with the natural environment. Our partnership with students, parents and the wider community is enhanced by this wonderful facility and will continue to flourish as our school community experiences the benefits provided by this new space.
