We structure their curriculum to meet these challenges and gain a head start for senior school.
Pivotal to the Middle Years Program is involvement in our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Institute which will provide your child with more career opportunities in an innovative and swiftly changing world.
The STEM Institute will support our efforts to turn students into future thinkers and entrepreneurs capable of starting their own business or providing enormous value to future employers.
Just as importantly, your child will not only graduate with a state-recognised certificate, but with an internationally recognised real-world education, thanks to our candidacy for the International Baccalaureate (IB).
The IB is an international educational foundation encouraging education which focuses on students’ problem-solving and inquiry skills in the real world.
Every Middle School student has core teachers who teach two and three subjects and house-based pastoral care to provide a very high level of individual support and encouragement. Students meet daily with Home Group teachers and receive personalised attention and guidance.
In a technologically enriched environment, the College’s technoV8 Laptop Program ensures all students use digital technologies within all subjects.
To provide a balanced education and a balanced child, we provide a host of extra-curricular activities. Students are expected to be involved in the Performing Arts Centre of Excellence and the Sports Program’s competition fixtures and carnivals.
Extension activities are provided through competitions and clubs such as the Science and Engineering Competition and the Future Thinkers Program.
Students in Years Seven and Eight study these core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Health and Physical Education, Religious and Values Education, Languages other than English (Chinese or German). Digital Technology is embedded in all core subjects.
Students in Years Seven and Eight also study six specialist subjects on either a semester or trimester rotation: Art, Drama, Music, Digital Technology, Food and Nutrition, and Design Technology.
