Shave for a Cure
Every day 34 Australians are given the devastating news that they have leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or a related blood disorder. These blood cancers can affect anyone, of any age, at any time. They can’t be prevented and because treatment usually lasts longer than for other cancers, there’s a greater impact on emotional, physical and financial aspects of life.
The Word’s Greatest Shave event is always well supported at the College and this year was no exception. On Friday, 9 March, 16 St John’s students participated in the Word’s Greatest Shave. Congratulations to the students who had their heads shaved and legs waxed. This year the team raised $6771.59. Donations can still be made online until the end of May. Thank you also to the staff from La Bella Health and Beauty for waxing legs on the day and . These ladies volunteer their time and the event wouldn’t be possible without them.
Students from our Primary Campus even got involved with wearing a crazy hair style to school and getingt their hair coloured for a donation.
Thank you to everyone who was involved in raising money for this great cause!
