St John’s Students Participate in the Interschool Equestrian Competitions

Over the weekend of the 6 and 7 February 2016 Tamborine Equestrian Group hosted a One Day Event. The event was listed as an interschool qualifier, therefore St John’s students Laura-Grace entered the Intro Junior Competition and Sophie entered the Pre-Intro Open Competition. Sophie’s group included both senior and junior riders.

Both students performed extremely well.  On Saturday Laura-Grace placed 9th equal after the dressage and managed a clear round of show jumping, despite the miserable weather conditions.  After the dressage on Saturday, Sophie placed 18th on the ladder as she was yet to showcase her show jumping and cross country.

Laura-Grace went clear in her cross country on the Sunday with 0.4 time faults thus moving her up to 5th equal overall.  A very commendable effort!  Sophie went clear in her show jumping, clear in her cross country, however she was a little too quick time wise, resulting in an accumulation of 10 time faults.  Aside of this she ended up 9th overall and in 6th place in the junior rider’s category.  Congratulations to both students, we are very proud of your achievements.
