The Rite Journey Homecoming
Each year St John’s Year Nine students become involved in a year- long and internationally recognised program called The Rite Journey. The focus of the program is to help and guide the students in this important transitioning stage of their life where they are developing from a child to a young adult.
On Wednesday 30 November our Year Nine cohort and their families came together to congratulate the students on completing the program. Each year students also have the opportunity to design their own Rite Journey badge which represent their experience. Ajay Anbu’s design was selected as this year’s choice. He explained, “The badge symbolises the journey we will have in our lives. We have the power within our hand to reach our goals”.
This incredible design also includes a mountain which represents future goals. The birds show how wonderful the world is and the opportunities available as long as the individual believes in themselves. You will also notice the trees featured in the badge which represent the dark times.
We are very proud of the students and are confident that they will make the best decisions and will act as responsible, self-aware, respectful, resilient young adults. We wish the cohort all the best for their Senior years at St John’s.
