Turning of the Soil Ceremony

Wed, 30/10/2019Posted by:

The commencement of St John’s Sports Centre Redevelopment was marked on Friday 11 October with a Turning of the Soil Ceremony at the Secondary campus.

Members of St John’s community gathered to celebrate this special milestone in the history of the College with State Member for the Jordan, Ms Charis Mullen offering the official welcome on behalf of Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and The Reverend John Coleman, Priest in Charge, St Catherine’s Anglican Church offering the blessing.

As a vibrant and responsive learning community, St John’s is continually seeking opportunities to contribute to the growth and development of its students, College and the Forest Lake community. The Sports Centre Redevelopment represents a significant milestone in this journey.

The new building, located at the Secondary campus, will be constructed in and around the current sporting dome. It has been architecturally designed to harmonise with the local natural environment, to complement existing structures and will feature colours and textures that enhance its natural surroundings. The Sports Centre is more than just a building, it is a modern facility that will provide opportunities for the wider Forest Lake community and sporting organisations.
