How to Enrol
Enrolling your child at St John’s is an exciting prospect and one we expect will have taken a great deal of deliberation.
St John’s welcomes enquiries and applications for enrolment at any time however due to strong enrolment demand, early application for the main intake years of at least three years prior to entry is recommended. Our main intake years are:
- Kindergarten – Little Saints Kindergarten
- Prep for Junior School
- Year Seven for Middle School
We also welcome students wishing to enter the College at an alternate year level although this is dependent on vacancies at the time. St John’s Senior Pathways Program commences in Year 10 with ATAR subjects commencing in Term Four, Year 10, offering a head start for our students.
Please note that the online application is only applicable to domestic students.
Applications of Enrolment
We are now taking applications for enrolment for Kindergarten and Prep entry in 2026 and beyond, and Year 7 entry in 2027 and beyond. Enrolment applications received for the following year levels will be automatically placed on a waitlist:
- Kindergarten 2025
- Year 7 2026
Please note that we are no longer accepting applications for the following year levels:
- Kindergarten 2024
- Prep 2024 and 2025
- Junior School – Years 1 to 6 for 2024, 2025 and 2026
- Year 7 2024 and 2025
Submit an Enrolment Enquiry
Enrolment List
On receipt of the completed Application for Enrolment and Application Fee, the application will be placed on the Enrolment List for the nominated year of entry. Applications on the Enrolment List will be included in the review process for consideration to receive a Letter of Offer. Please note that having an application on the Enrolment List does not automatically guarantee the offer of a place at the College.
Enrolment Waitlist
If the Enrolment List is at capacity, applications will be placed on the Enrolment Waitlist for the nominated year of entry. Applications on the Enrolment Waitlist will be moved to the Enrolment List to be considered for enrolment as places become available. Places may become available at any time up until the commencement of the specified year group.
Application Process
Completion of an online Enrolment Application requires payment of a non-refundable application fee of $220. Prior to submitting an application, please ensure that you have read the College’s Student Enrolment Management Procedure and you have the following documents ready for attachment to the application:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunisation Statement uploaded from MyGov – please refer to St John’s Vaccine-Preventable and Infectious Diseases Procedure
- Student’s last two school reports (if applicable)
- NAPLAN results (if applicable)
- If both parents were born overseas, please also attach a copy of the relevant Visa and/or temporary or permanent residency documents.
- Any court or parenting orders that exist pertaining to the guardianship arrangements for the child.

Step 1: Application
Submit an online application to join the College’s Enrolment List. Early application is advised. Failure to provide the required documentation or submission of incomplete documentation at the online enrolment application stage may result in a delay in processing the application to the next stage, subsequently being placed on a waitlist.
Applications for enrolment to the College are registered when the Application for Enrolment, copy of Birth Certificate (and other required documentation) together with the Application fee are received. Please note that this does not automatically guarantee a place at the College.
Step 2: Review
The College progresses to the Review stage in the enrolment application process up to three years prior to entry for Year 7 and the year prior to entry for all other year levels.
Parents will also be required to complete an online Enrolment Progress Form at this stage for students entering Kindergarten and Prep.
Key considerations for the enrolment of new students entering the College are:
- Siblings of existing College students
- Siblings of enrolling College students
- Children of Old Collegians
- All other students
Consideration is given to the educational needs and circumstances of each applicant. If required, information is gathered in consultation with parents and other relevant persons/professionals prior to progressing the enrolment application.
Step 3: Enrolment Meeting / Offer
Kindergarten and Junior School Applications
Following the Review stage including the return and review of the Kindergarten or Prep Enrolment Progress Form, an enrolment meeting will be scheduled. This meeting provides an opportunity for College staff and the family to get to know each other, to learn more about the daily routines of that year level and for any questions to be answered.
Incomplete applications or those flagged for additional information will be contacted directly to request further information and an enrolment meeting scheduled.
Secondary School Applications
Following the Review stage, offers are made to successful applicants for the year of entry. A Letter of Offer will be sent via email to parents/guardians together with an Enrolment Agreement and a request to pay the Enrolment Confirmation Fee and the Advance Fee.
To accept the offer of a place at the College, parents/guardians are required to sign and return the Enrolment Agreement and pay the non-refundable enrolment Confirmation Fee and Advance Fee that need to be received by the due date. The Enrolment Confirmation Fee is $600 per child and the Advance Fee is $1800 for students entering Years 7 to 12. The Advance Fee payment is credited to the Term One Tuition Fees.
Failure to disclose any information pertaining to the student’s medical needs and/or their social, educational, and behavioural history in this Enrolment Agreement and prior to the enrolment meeting may result in this offer being rescinded.
Step 4: Offer / Enrolment Meeting
Kindergarten and Junior School Applications
Following a successful Enrolment Meeting, an offer of a place will be made. A Letter of Offer will be sent via email to parents/guardians together with an Enrolment Agreement and a request to pay the Enrolment Confirmation Fee and the Advance Fee.
To accept the offer of a place at the College, parents/guardians are required to sign and return the Enrolment Agreement and pay the non-refundable enrolment Confirmation Fee and Advance Fee that need to be received by the due date. The Enrolment Confirmation Fee is $600 per child and the Advance Fee is $1500 for students entering Prep to Year 6. The Advance Fee payment is credited to the Term One Tuition Fees.
Secondary School Applications
Upon return of the signed Enrolment Agreement and receipt of full payment of the enrolment Confirmation Fee and Advance Fee, students and parents are invited to attend a meeting with a Senior Staff member/s.
The meeting provides an opportunity for College staff and the family to get to know each other, to learn more about the daily routines of that year level and for any questions to be answered.
Year of Entry Birth Guide
The key intake years at St John’s are Kindergarten, Prep and Year 7. To determine the correct year of entry for your child, please locate their birthdate in the first column, and refer to Column 2, 3 or 4 to determine their correct year of entry.
Prep is compulsory in Queensland. A child must be five years or older on or before 30 June in the year of entry into Prep.
