St John’s Home Boarding offers a unique boarding alternative for Australian families. Students from regional and rural Australia can now access an exciting and joyful coeducational learning experience in private boarding with our long-established and trusted homestay families.
For many families that require flexibility and convenience, St John’s Home Boarding offers weekly or term-time private boarding with our homestay families for students from Years 6 to 12.
There are many benefits to St John’s Home Boarding. In addition to the valuable opportunities to develop independence, resilience and personal growth, St John’s Home Boarding fosters a sense of family and belonging, developing lifelong friendships with fellow students and homestay families. Our St John’s family will offer the highest of care to your family.
As a St John’s Home Boarding student, your child will be safe, comfortable, supervised, and supported both academically and socially. Your child will be immersed in a St John’s way of life, being involved in some of the College’s many rich co-curriculum activities and supported through the student wellbeing structure while having the option to return home on the weekend to spend time with their own families.
Creating a positive culture and ensuring that every one of our students has positive individual wellbeing is something we take very seriously at St John’s. St John’s Home Boarding Rural Scholarship
A Home Boarding Scholarship for students who live more than 200km away from the College is available for students commencing in Year 7 or 10. The successful applicants are expected to demonstrate:
- a strong commitment to their academic performance
- a desire and willingness to participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities outside of the academic program of the College
- a demonstrated sense of community
- exhibit qualities compatible with the Anglican ethos and values of St John’s
- a demonstrated capacity to lead

A $290 private boarding placement fee is charged per student, in addition to the above fees. If a private boarding relocation is required, $190 will be charged.
