St John’s Foundation Week is a highlight in the College calendar marking another milestone in the history of the school. Officially on Thursday 30 August 2020, St John’s celebrated its 27th year with weeklong activities and events across the College.

Semester One Primary and Secondary Academic Assemblies were held with Old Collegian Ms Piper Jefferies (Class of 2019) returning as the guest speaker at the Secondary Assembly. Piper shared some helpful advice to assist our students in reaching their academic goals.

Students in Years 5 and 6 celebrated their outstanding achievements at Primary with students in Years 3 and 4 for their efforts in demonstrating the International Baccalaureate Learner Profiles of Knowledgeable, Thinker, Communicator, Caring, and Principled.

Foundation day itself was celebrated by staff and students in building House Spirit with the annual Courtyard Run and a Foundation Day Film with the Principal, Mrs Maria McIvor. Mrs McIvor spoke to the students about our patron St John the Apostle, the dragon and the relevance to our St John’s Dragon mascot echoing our core values of Faith, Hope, Love, Courage, Community and Justice.

The week culminated in the Primary Fancy-Dress day with students dressed in all things beginning with the letter ‘B’.

Well done to Braithwaite house as the 2020 Courtyard winners and thank you to the St John’s community for being part of our story.

Happy Birthday St John’s!
