Scholars and Scholarship Presentation

Tue, 07/02/2023Posted by:

Wednesday 1st February was a day of celebration as our College community recognised the outstanding achievements of our top ATAR performing students from the Class of 2022 and congratulated the 2023 Scholarship recipients.

An incredible 28% of the cohort received an ATAR over 90 placing them in the top 10% in Queensland with 5 students also achieving an A in every subject they studied and 10 students achieving 100% on one or more of their external exams.

We were delighted to welcome Old Collegian Ryan Nguyen who achieved the highest ATAR in the 2022 cohort of 99.25 as the morning’s guest speaker. Ryan delivered an inspirational message to our guests providing helpful words of advice on school/life balance and planning to succeed.

The Scholars Assembly is always an inspiring event for our current St John’s students who have the opportunity to learn from our recent graduates and follow in their footsteps.

Mr Landroth, Deputy Principal said, “The graduates present here today, as well as those who are not, have demonstrated significant courage, resilience, perseverance, patience, understanding and faith well beyond their years, and for that, they should be commended”.

Our scholars are going on to pursue a range of tertiary studies at different Universities, including Business, Engineering, Medicine, Education and the Arts.

The College community is extremely proud of our graduates and we wish them all the very best as they move into the next chapter of their educational and life journey.  #oldcollegian
